Almost everyone struggles with losing fat in their mid section! Usually if you can get rid of it there, the rest of your body will follow.
So many times I hear about all these things that people do to lose fat when actually, they are promoting higher cortisol levels and slowing fat loss by making their bodies mad at them.
I use 3 simple steps in my training with most clients with great results!!
Did I just say that? Yes I did. There are so many studies that prove that fasting for 14-16 hours increases your fat burning hormones. It sounds hard but it’s not. You will still eat your recommended amount of caloric intake for the day, you just do it in a smaller time frame. You have to try it to believe it!
Eat More Fat!
Another thing that helps fight your stubborn body fat is omega-3 fats. A diet high in omega-3 fats is great for fighting off inflammation. Chronic inflammation is the root cause of many serious health problems AND it’s also shown to promote stubborn stomach fat!
Where can you get omega-3 fats?? Fish is the best source, such as salmon, trout, mackerel although most people don’t eat enough fish. You could also get it from a high quality supplement such as Pure Pharma Supplements which we sell here at LEAN Training Studio! Toxins and mercury are dangers of using low end supplements for omega-3’s so be careful in your selection.
Do what?? Yes, exercise less. Have you ever seen overweight people on cardio machines 7 days a week? I have. Fat loss is a balance of eating and exercise. It’s NOT overexercising and under eating. Your body will not allow that long term. I suggest intense weight training (doesn’t mean it has to be heavy) and short bouts of intense cardio. It is also beneficial to do it post workout! Make sure to follow up with some good post workout nutrition to aid this fat loss as well!
For best results you’ll want to combine these 3 simple steps with a diet high in healthy fats, low in carbohydrates and moderate amounts of protein, so you can re-program your body to optimally burn fat as your major fuel source and enable you to burn off your stubborn belly fat more effectively.
