I hope this post doesn’t come off as too harsh but sometimes we NEED to hear the truth!
Food works. It does it’s job well. Last time I checked, when you eat it, it fills your belly. If the food you eat is always bad, bad things happen. If it is always good, good things will happen. (generally speaking, there are always exceptions.
The things I hear in the gym on a daily basis sometimes drives me crazy. Get this, there is also some logic to eating and nutrition. For instance, it is highly unlikely that you would be obese while simultaneously eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis. Likewise, it is highly unlikely that you would be lean and fit if you ate junk food and drank alcohol on a regular basis. So what do I hear all day? Fred, “I’m eating really good, I don’t know what the problem is?” Really?? This is coming from a person that may be 40-70lbs overweight. This is so unlikely.
This brings me to my two points:
1. Our bodies do what we tell it to! I can look at someone and tell them basically what they have been doing with their nutrition (aside from looking at their Facebook page! LOL) and easily tell if what they say matches what they look like.
If you smoke for years, you will likely get cancer or emphysema.
If you overeat and stay inactive for years you will get overweight.
If you drink alcohol for years you will likely get cirrhosis of the liver.
If you use drugs long term, you will likely get a disease and ruin your life.
You see my point.
With that said, here is point 2:
2. If you say that you want something really bad but are simultaneously doing something that is contrary to what you want really bad, you are lying to yourself. That alone will leave you without success in every aspect of your life.
“I want to lose weight soooooooo bad but tonight I’m going to eat Mexican food.” NOT Not that Mexican every once in a while is bad but if it was really important to you, you would WAIT!
Success requires commitment and sacrifice. This is not new news. Get over it. Read Below:
Priority- something that is more important than other things and that needs to be done or dealt with first; the things that someone cares about and thinks are important; the condition of being more important than something or someone else and therefore coming or being dealt with first.
This is just logic. Now there is definately science and coaching that goes along with this but this is the bulk of it!! I have always said, I can make anyone do anything they want. How? What does it take?
Adherence. Commitment. Sacrifice.
There is now way around this. What is even more amazing?? You have the ability. It’s deep within. Think about all the incredible feats of human achievement that have happened around you. Those are normal people who made a decision to get what they wanted at any cost. So can you!
