Before I began LEAN Performance Academy, I had tried other gyms and programs, attending their classes, attempting to use machines on my own, trying to figure out how to properly do the exercises.  The problem was that sometimes the classes were too large and I couldn't get proper instruction on what I was doing and then I would get discouraged.  Not to mention, I just didn't get the feeling that I "fit".   You start off excited to start something new, only to feel deflated when you once again, fail.
I actually began LEAN thinking that I would once again, fail.  "You are only setting yourself up to do something that you know you aren't capable of doing." is what I told myself on the first day that I walked in and sure enough, I left that class early, in tears, because I let myself get defeated before I even began.  BUT, after encouragement from my husband and a few messages from the coaches at LEAN that night(checking in on me), I decided not to give up.  I needed to do this for myself.  I needed an outlet of some sort and the benefit of toning up and possibly losing a  little more weight would just be an added bonus.
The coaches at LEAN Performance academy helped to change my life.  They have shown me proper technique and modified exercises when needed.  They have pushed me beyond what I ever thought I could do and they have helped me to completely transform my life, physically and mentally and I can't even begin to thank them enough for that.  But the thing that drew me in the most was the feeling that I fit in.  I was part of another family.  I belonged here.  I am so glad that I finally quit giving myself reasons why I couldn't go to the gym.  Instead, I give myself reasons why I could and should go, and my life/health has been better for it.
